Weekenders

About a dozen of us met for a Jubilee Faith Supper on 5th June and most of us dressed appropriately in red, white and blue. We had a lovely buffet and had a Royalty Quiz which was won by Team3 – Doreen, Margaret, Beryl and Anita. Marilynne guessed how many weeks the Queen had reigned so far (3,120). Thanks to Sue for her hospitality.

16th June saw us braving the wind and rain with a guided walk around Beauvale Priory followed by a welcome Afternoon Tea. Despite the weather we found the tour interesting and the Tea delicious.
We also visited the Ashfield U3A members’ Open Garden on 10th June at Salmon Lane, Annesley Woodhouse, where they have done so much work in the short while they have lived there.
We also joined other Hucknall U3A members at the North Notts. Neighbourhood Jubilee Jamboree when two of our members both won prizes in the Cakes Competition. We all very much enjoyed the well organised event.
On Sunday 24th June thirteen of us enjoyed the free Binns Organ Recital at the Albert Hall, Nottingham with a super three course lunch beforehand in the Osbourne Lounge at the Albert Hall. Some of our members also went a couple of weeks previously to the free Brass Band concert in the Arboretum Park and there are more of these on offer over the coming months. If you company on similar occasions, get in touch with Sandra Green.
