Short Walks April

26 members enjoyed a leisurely level walk around the picturesque village of Hickling. The swans were nesting; the weather was fine; the company was good; and a lovely meal to finish – what else could we ask for.
Our next walk on THURSDAY 15TH MAY 2014, begins at: ‘The Woodend’ pub, Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite, NG17 2QJ
Starting at 10.00 from the pub car park we will take in Brierley Forest Park, which is a fairly new country park, opened in 1999, with spectacular views from the top of the hill.
The Park is a reminder of the area’s heritage, based on coal mining, railways and agriculture. DISTANCE: 5 miles
