Pub Quiz and Lunch Group enjoy record turnout!

Wow, it was nice to see some new faces in the biggest turnout so far for our Pub Quiz & Lunch at the Nabb Inn on 9th November. Forty members did their best with the questions on the subjects of November, Remembrance, Guy Fawkes and Old TV & Radio programmes. There was a bit of disagreement on one answer but thanks to one member who checked it out on the Iphone, (after the Quiz not during!) this was put right, resulting in first place going to “No Idea!” team, second place to “Silly Billys“ and third place to “Whatever!“. Just for fun we did a Dingbats quiz and of course, our usual raffle. Many thanks to those who donated items for the Bumper Bag prize and the raffle. As it was our Quizmaster, John Peter’s birthday two days later he was given a card signed by all, together with a small collection for him to treat himself to a drink on his forthcoming cruise. Good sailing, John!
For those who have not been before, do come and join us; we meet at 12 noon at The Nabb Inn, Nabbs Lane. The next one is on Monday, 14th December. The Nabb Inn are doing a special Christmas Meal Deal but this has to be booked in advance. The December Quiz will be a little different, with a Christmas Lucky Dip and a “Strictly Come Quizzing” competition to find the individual Competition Champion, amongst other activities.
On arrival please find a table, check the table number and then order your drink (and meal if you are dining) at the bar. We have teams of up to five members (don’t worry if you are on your own as we will find a team for you to join; we are very friendly). We start the Quiz at 12.30 and eat after the Quiz. We have a raffle, which includes a “bumper bag” of goodies, amongst other prizes. We are always very grateful for any donations for the “bumper bag” (store cupboard items or other small items) and other raffle prizes. Each member of the winning team receives a small prize. Quiz sheets are 50p and raffle tickets £1 a strip. So get your thinking caps on and come and join us!
