National Trust October

There are spaces left for the Quarrybank Mill and Apprentice house trip in on Friday 5 September. The fare for that is £9.00.
There is also one place left for Worcester this coming Friday. This trip is £11.00 and you don’t have to be in the National Trust to go. A reminder to those that are going the coach leaves at 8.15 for this trip.
October’s trip is to the Shugborough Estate near Stafford. This is the home, set in 900 acres, of the late Patrick Litchfield royal photographer. The coach fare is £8.00 and the date is Friday 3 October. Departure time from Hucknall Leisure Centre is 9.15am.
Whilst there is obviously no charge to visit the house for National Trust members this venue is run by the local authority who employ costumed characters in the servants’ quarters and farm. So if you wish to visit these optional areas there is a £6.00 charge which entitles you to a 45 minute guided tour of the house and access to all areas. Non-NT members pay £10.50 and access everything so you can see characters doing laundry, cheesemaking, milling, brewing and baking. You’ll also see a reconstructed chemist shop, tailors’ shop, Victorian schoolroom and puppet collection.
Having been before I certainly thought it was worth paying the extra to add to the experience.
