Mid-Length Walk – May

We ventured into Hognaston and Carsington Water for our May walk; Steve Lawence and John Tedstone were our walk leaders. Unfortunately we had a day of rain, with some rather heavy showers!! We started from the Red Lion Inn in Hognaston and had our lunch under the shelter at Carsington Water Visitor’s Centre. The pub was a welcome sight at the end of our 6 miles but typically the rain had stopped by then and the sun shone all the way home!! We will have a nice sunny day next time! This is a walk that I would like to repeat on a dry day – thank you to Steve, Anne and John for all their hard work recceing it beforehand and leading us on the day. We did at least save our money on ice creams at the Visitors’ Centre!!
Our next walk is on: Monday 15th June to Stanage Edge, Derbyshire
