Garden Group Visit

On Tuesday 20th May our Gardens Group visited the gardens at 334 Belper Road, Stanley Common, Ilkeston. Our party of 35 were made most welcome by the owners, Mr and Mrs Hancock. Originally part of their parents farm the bungalow gardens have been extended to incorporate several acres of grassland featuring many wild flowers and orchids including a small lake. The bungalow is surrounded by well matured garden with many features including a laburnum arbor plus a vegetable patch and greenhouse. Tea included 3 types of cakes and scones and cream. Needless to say that all our members went home well satisfied with their visit and looking forward to the next Garden Groups trip out to the Woodpeckers in Burton Joyce on Tuesday 17th June.
