Weekenders' Report

The events organised by either the Lunch Group or the Weekenders’ Group are open to all U3A members, regardless of whether they are regulars or not. Obviously places are sometimes limited so it’s first come, first served; I should be grateful if you could let me know if you are interested in these events as soon as possible so that I can let other members know if I have places left. Our October to December programme will be on the U3A website before the monthly meeting.
We had a day trip to Leicester on September 15th; some went to the Richard III Exhibition, others went to churches and museums; most went shopping in the High Cross Centre and lunched at High Cross Inn (Wetherspoons). One of us was very successful in obtaining her marrows from Leicester Market (she couldn’t get any in Nottingham) so she was piccalilli-making on her return home.
We had a lovely Cheese & Wine Party at Whyburn Court with our host being Ruth Houldsworth, on September 23rd. We then met for Coffee Club and Programme Planning on September 30th. The events list for the next three months will be on the noticeboard and on the website.
