Music for Pleasure Evening

The Music for Pleasure group welcomed two new members to its numbers at the meeting at the home of our co-ordinator, John Peters, on Tuesday 31st March. John, as usual, had prepared a great evening’s music for us, with some real rock and roll nostalgia for us ‘baby boomers’. This consisted of The Beatles, The Shadows and of course Elvis, to which we all sang along with gusto. (It could be that the singing was helped along by the fact that one or two of us were enjoying a glass of wine!) A great version of Cliff Richard’s Move It, accompanied by Brian May really had John’s bungalow rocking. Feet were definitely tapping, and even a few irresistible dance moves were observed! John is indeed fortunate to have considerate neighbours.
The wine was supplemented by tea, coffee and chocolate cakes during a lull in the music (but not the conversation!)
One of our new members is himself a musician, and will supply us with some interesting lesser known music from the 60’s and 70’s. He will liaise with John to create another varied programme for our next meeting on Tuesday 28th April.
New members are always welcome. Please feel free to join us, or contact John on 0115 9634990.
