Film Club March 20th and 25th

I can’t say that the film this week is exactly my cup of tea as its called FURY and stars Brad Pitt ( one for the ladies ) and is a portrait of a Sherman tank crew towards the end of World War 2 . Balancing the human drama of combat with ferociously precise battle sequences set in the heart of Nazi Germany.

As usual this film can be seen at the Bonington Theatre on High St. Arnold on Friday 20th. Meet in the bar at 7.15 for 7.30 screening. Warning this film is 134 mins long but there will be an intermission for restocking your glasses.

There is a large free car park adjacent to the Bonington which is inside the Library/Swimming pool complex.

Next week’s film will be shown on Wednesday 25th – same times and same place. the film will be ‘Effie Gray’.Based on the real-life scandal that shocked Victorian England. This Emma Thompson scripted film tells the story of Euthemia “Effie” Gray.  At 19, she married the prominent art historian and critic John Ruskin. An unconsummated marriage leads to other relationships which defy the rules of Victorian society.
