Short Walks October

Beecher’s Brook has nothing on the 3-stile stile the Short Walk Group encountered on their idyllic, quintessentially English, amble around Hoveringham. Which leg? Which arm? What now, my foot’s stuck?; baffled us all. From the cattle grazing by the River Trent to the quiet, empty cricket pitch, to the gush of water tumbling from the old watermill, the walk was a delight, including the lovely meal at the end at Ferry Farm.
It was great to welcome back some old faces and welcome new.
We hope you will join us again on October 16th when we shall be walking 4 and three quarter miles in the Trowell area. We will meet at the car park between Cossall and Trowell next to the canal for a 10.00 start. Lunch will be at The Broad Oak at Strelley. If you would like to join us, just turn up on the day. Lifts can also be arranged.
