Lunch Group Latest

Once again we returned to one of our favourite Christmas venue for our Christmas Lunch on the 18th December in the Osbourne Lounge at the Albert Hall before going to see Jack & The Beanstalk at the Nottingham Playhouse. The meal and service were excellent and the Christmas Dingbats quiz was won by Pat Rose and Lorna Hewitt. The Nottingham Playhouse’s stage sets were as beautiful as they always are; the costumes, especially Buttercup the cow, the Rabbits and the Giant were very clever and Kenneth Alan Taylor‘s last performance as the Dame was memorable for his numerous costume changes. This time the U3A was in an extreme minority, with the rest of the audience being an average age of eight, including the teachers. The noise level and the enthusiasm of the pupils of several schools was enjoyable to watch. It was scary to think these kids will be in charge of our lives when we are in our eighties!
Can I take the opportunity of thanking the Lunch Group members for their Christmas gift. It is nice to know that the members appreciate the work that goes on “behind the scenes” but as I said at the Christmas Lunch, if I didn’t enjoy it, I would not do it!
We go to the Arunothai Restaurant in Hucknall on the 22nd January and I am sure we will enjoy it.
The menu for the Adams Brasserie in the Lace Market, Nottingham for February is below. Please let me know your choices as soon as possible. In March we are going to the Crème Restaurant in Sandiacre and the menu should be available hopefully in February. These venues are now full.
