The Horse & Groom at Moorgreen was our venue for thirty members of the Lunch Group on 27th November when the Cryptic Underground Stations quiz was won by Jean Rowe and Meryl Briggs. The lunch was very enjoyable and we had the upstairs room all to ourselves so we could be as noisy as we wanted to be.
We are looking forward to our Christmas Lunch on the 18th December at the Albert Hall before going to see Jack & The Beanstalk at the Nottingham Playhouse. This theatre’s stage sets are always beautiful and it is a joy to watch the faces of the pupils of several schools who also attend this matinee performance.
It was a bit of a nightmare sorting out the menu choices for the Arunothai Restaurant in Hucknall for the 22nd January due to the wide variety of dishes and the foreign names but I am sure we will enjoy it; several of us have visited this restaurant before
and have always been impressed by the food and service. We just hope the weather is not as bad this January as it was last January.
The menu for the Adam’s Brasserie, in the Lace Market, Nottingham for February, is not yet to hand so please keep checking the Lunch Group section of the Hucknall U3A website.
In March we are going to the Crème Restaurant in Sandiacre and they require a £5 per person deposit before 22nd December so if you have your name down for this venue already, please let me have your £5 deposit, either in cash or cheque made payable to Hucknall & District U3A, at the Christmas Social on December 9th. Unfortunately if I do not receive your deposit the place may have to be given to someone else.
