Birdwatching at Edwinstowe

Our next trip, on Tuesday 9 July will be to Sherwood Forest at Edwinstowe, meeting at the cricket ground car park there at 6.30 pm.
On Tuesday 11 June we went to the RSPB reserve at Frampton Marsh near Boston in Lincolnshire. Arriving there at 10am we had a good six hours birdwatching. We saw over 40 different birds amongst them were Avocets with their chicks, Black-tailed Godwits in full breeding plumage, Reed Buntings, Ringed Plovers and many many more.
According to the map the bottom end of the reserve overlooked the Wash, so we set off to see it. However, on reaching the bank we viewed it – THROUGH A TELESCOPE on the horizon. A bit of a ‘washout’!! Apart from that we had a thoroughly enjoyable day and all agreed at the Meet that we were completely shattered on arriving home.
