Weekenders' Group

The Hucknall Weekenders’ Group joined up with the Ashfield Weekenders’ for a meal at Bella Mia in Hucknall on Sunday, 2nd September and this was much enjoyed.
The Planning Get-Together for the Weekenders’ Group saw our diaries getting fuller & fuller with events planned between now & Christmas. If you do not have access to the U3A website, please ask Sandra Green for a copy of the programme or give her a ring on 0115 8408132 (email on the form below). A few events are listed below for information. If you are interested in any of these, ring Sandra who will put you in touch with others who might also be attending.
Sun. 9 September – “Mandala” in the Old Market Square 20.00-22.30 pm. This unique open-air show will see Nottingham Council House spectacularly illuminated in colour & light, with live South Asian dance & music projected onto the building. Performances by world-class artists. This event is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Also on this date, Jazz at the Arboretum, 1-5 pm.
Thurs. 13 – Broadway Cinema-Silver Screen (£4.30 for seniors) “Anna Karenina” (Keira Knightley)
Sun. 16 – Vintage Fair at the Albert Hall, Nottingham 12 noon £1 admission. The nation’s favourite Vintage Fair brings you 40 of the UK’s best traders selling nen’s and women’s vintage accessories, jewellery, cupcakes, home wares, art & gift ideas! vintage hair salon and vintage tea party.
Later the same day, Weekenders visit to the Quiz Night at Rolls-Royce at 8.30 pm for 9 pm.

Sat 22 – Weekenders’ Day Out to Dobbies Garden Centre & Retail Park nr. Chesterfield
Thurs. 27 – Broadway Cinema–Silver Screen – “Hope Springs” (Meryl Streep)
Thurs. 4th October – Ashfield U3A – Talk by Martin Fish of Radio Nottingham (Gardener) at the Ashwood Centre, Kirkby.
Sun. 7- Lunch at The Miller’s Barn, Cinderhill at 12.15 for 12.30 pm.
Sat 13 – Weekenders’ Day Out to Derby
Sat 20 – Weekenders’ Get-Together at the home of Jean & Dave Arrowsmith. 7 pm.
Sun. 21 – Albert Hall – 2.45 pm.The final organ recital of the season given by Charles Harrison from Lincoln. If anyone would like to go just for the pre-recital lunch let me know – 1 pm.
