For our November walk we were kindly given permission to park at The Griffin’s Head Papplewick. Our route was along Main Street to Blidworth Waye where we joined the Robin Hood Way to Ravenshead.
We took a short coffee break in Ravenshead before continuing onto and along Little Rickets Lane towards Larch Farm. The next stage was a footpath off Kirkby Road which led to Newstead Abbey and we all were relieved to get to the cafe and toilets because by that stage we had covered 7 miles.
After taking a late lunch we continued through the grounds towards Papplewick appreciating the autumn colours along the way. 9.3 miles later, we arrived back at the Griffin’s Head where many of us enjoyed a welcome drink.
