The Weekenders programme for group members for September to December was posted on the U3A website last month. We like to organise a Lunch, a Social Evening, an Outing and a Coffee Club get together each month, plus any other events we might be interested in. This group is now full but if anyone is interested in a Weekenders Too! Group, please let the Groups’ Co-ordinator, Siobhan Lee, know when between us we could start a second group.
We have lunched several times at The Broomhill to celebrate group members’ birthdays and have already booked our October and November birthday lunches, plus our Christmas Lunch on 10th December.
Sandra used the September Coffee Club as a fundraiser for Macmillan and the 21st September Social Evening was hosted by Margaret White with a “Cruise Night” theme; we dressed appropriately in our cruise finery and competed in a “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and “Guess the Famous Landmarks” quiz. Many thanks to Margaret White for hosting.
The 19th October Social Evening will be at Lindsay Smith’s with a “Musical” theme. We are also having an outing to Welbeck Abbey on 4th October and a lunch at Yamas in Nottingham on 12th October. We will end October with a Coffee Club session on 26th October with a “Winter Memories” theme.
