Lunch Group Update and Menus

This time it was forty-seven of us for lunch at Adams Brasserie in the Lace Market, Nottingham in February. The Beatles celebrated fifty years of their arrival in the USA (I nearly typed U3A – that would be a scoop, wouldn’t it?) and so we had a Beatles’ songs picture quiz which was won by the Ridley/Lamberts’ table In March we are going to the Crème Restaurant in Stapleford and I still need to have everyone’s menu choices; the menu is on the website.
On St. George’s Day (April 23rd) we are going down to the Market Square to see the St. George’s Day Parade and then for lunch at a later time of 1.15 pm at Yates’ Wine Lodge. Please let me have your menu choices from the menu which is on the U3A website.
28th May will see us at the Cockliffe Country House Hotel on Burntstump Hill. This is limited to forty diners. Again, to make it fair for everyone, please put your names on the Lunch Group list at the March U3A meeting rather than ringing up or emailing beforehand. However it is more than acceptable to send me your menu choices either by phone or email.
The Lunch Group has been in operation since just after the Hucknall U3A opened and since that time we have, 99% of the time, been to a different restaurant each month; the only time we returned to a particular restaurant was because of bad weather and we wanted to stay locally and of course our very much enjoyed Christmas visit to the Osbourne Lounge at the Albert Hall, Nottingham, prior to the Nottingham Playhouse pantomime.
I have booked the Christmas lunch and the pantomime already and this will be on Wednesday, 17th December. Unfortunately, as with everything else, the prices have risen and the lunch will be £23 and the pantomime £22.50 (and this is the concession price!) but hopefully you will see this as a Christmas gift to yourself! Those who attend always thoroughly enjoy both the lunch and the pantomime, which this year will be “Sleeping Beauty”. I can take names for this now and will be collecting deposits around June/July time.
